The Dekalb County Department of Juvenile Justice must want children killed or citizens of this community robbed. After numerous times of my son running away and committing numerous offenses while on house arrest he eventually broke into my home and destroyed property and stole items.
The police say that they cannot do anything. His probation officer says he can't do anything. I had to wait 24 more hours to say he was missing, because he was considered home when he broke into the house.
This morning I went to the Department of Juvenile Justice at the intake department on Memorial drive to report that my son had run away, even though I have not seen him since Saturday night.
They sent me away! They told me I had to go back home and call 911 again and do a missing persons report, then return to the same location to do the runaway report. The police were just at the house yesterday!
Why is it this difficult for a person to report their own child missing/runaway? How can a child break several laws and his probation officers do nothing? Where is the justice for the juveniles and the citizens of Dekalb County? If my son broke into his family home don't you think he might break into someone else's? This is a travesty of justice.
Our taxpayer dollars are going to allowing children to run around delinquent violating the rights of others with NO consequences. Our tax dollars are allowing our kids to roam the streets . Our tax dollars are teaching the kids the lesson that they have power over parents and the police!
